The place is absolutely massive. If you go and don't know what you're looking for you'll never gonna find anything. Do your research before you get there. It can take hours to get you a document so book ahead.

You need to get used to the place because the staff could be more pleasant and helpful.

Helpful staff, although security can sometimes be overbearing, and temperatures in the Reading room too cold.

I went here for a research trip in May 11. The requested items were quickly provided, the staff were helpful, the registration was painless, the grounds are lovely and the cafe was well stocked.

Go through the gate and into a lovely pond area, the ponds have beautiful swans and coots, the building is stunning, you have to get a readers ticket, and that can take a while, but the staff are very happy to help you find what ever records you are looking for, you will need a recent bill with your address...
