A lovely building to go to in the Summer as you can sit by the pond and have a nice picnic or a spot of lunch. The staff are very polite and helpful, and the guides and education lessons are very well planned and informative. The exhibition-museum area is great, with the Domesday book and Elizabeth I's funeral accounts on... More

The place is absolutely massive. If you go and don't know what you're looking for you'll never gonna find anything. Do your research before you get there. It can take hours to get you a document so book ahead.

I went here for a research trip in May 11. The requested items were quickly provided, the staff were helpful, the registration was painless, the grounds are lovely and the cafe was well stocked.

Go through the gate and into a lovely pond area, the ponds have beautiful swans and coots, the building is stunning, you have to get a readers ticket, and that can take a while, but the staff are very happy to help you find what ever records you are looking for, you will need a recent bill with your address... I went as a tourist and really found the experience rewarding. The National Archives are in an... More
