we weren't intending to visit either of these places as they are usually an extra charge but on the day we went they were both free, so we went and thoroughly enjoyed them both.

I found Kew Gardens by mistake today, and what a great experience I had at the Palace. Arrive early as the sun brings people out in droves! Even if you do not choose to, or have time to, go inside the Palace, do make sure you visit the lovely formal gardens outside.

If you've ever wondered what's inside- this is your only chance to see! They've done a wonderful job reconstructing the rooms and atmosphere in these lovely residences.

Beautifully maintained - something around every corner. Queen Charlotte's Cottage was not open but George's Red Palace was and the Queen's garden behind was very interesting.

Next to the Orangery cafe, Kew Palace offers a wonderful little insight into the life of mad King George III in an historic house with a difference. There is a separate (small) entry fee required, but given we spent the whole day at the gardens, it was certainly worth the extra pennies. The reconstructed historic gardens to the rear of... More

The Palace and Cottage were stunning, as many of the Historic Royal Palaces are (Banqueting House the only exception). The refurbished rooms were amazing and provide a great insight into King George III and family. It was like stepping back in time, or into a film about the period. The contrast with the refurbished rooms and the top floor that... More
