As suggested by other reviewers get there as early as you can, visit all the gardens first and then the palace. The sun can be quite warm later in the day and the palace is quite cool. Walk where only aristocrats walked and the beauty that they only shared while their subjects lived a lesser life style. The English garden... More

Caserta palce is a beautifull building surrounded by an ugly town. Rubbish everywhere. Be prepared for the windscreen cleaners, water sellers etc at most traffic lights on the approach. Then run the gauntlet of hawkers etc to the palace itself. Once inside there are more of them. However once in the gardens the view is fantastic. Wonderful gardens and waterfalls.... More

This palace and grounds are billed as the "Versailles of Italy". It is an impressive building and a large plot of land but it if NOT Versailles. I would say that it is possibly the only attraction in Caserta worth visiting but I would not go far out of my way to see it but if you are in the... More

For a leisurely walk around the gardens or exploring all the rooms around the Palace this place is amazing and must see. You can spend the majority of the day here if you take your time. It is a 3 kilometer walk to the falls... they do have a bus if you are not up for the challenge. Explore the... More

La Reggia di Caserta is something that should not be missed! The grounds and gardens are absolutely beautiful. The inside of the palace is amazing even though some parts were obscured by a "modern art" exhibition that was going on while we there. What passes as modern art only served as a contrast to the true artistry that went into... More

what a great place. The building is not the greatest looking place but interesting all the same. A massive structure in the middle of a road way. Some interesting architecture inside. The best part are the gardens. Walk through the building and along the paths all the way to the top. Go early morning when the sun isn't burning down... More

Historic not very interesting. Gardens are large, nice to walk in but nothing better than walking in any forrest. Do not go insite the palace. Very expensive, nothing you'd have to see before you die. No marble floors, ceilings are nice. No English information available. The parking garage is full of baggers, trying to sell you things

I agree with other reviews - fantastic gardens (we walked up and took the shuttle bus back - and found it was 1E both ways) - 12E for both gardens and palace, which is VERY bling. Bought a simple info brochure for E1.50 but worth downloading some info before hand, for sure. We went by train enroute from Naples to... More

I first visited the palace, which is very beautiful - although there were one or two things which I found annoying. Firstly there wasn't a huge amount of information (I only discovered afterwards that it is often used as the Vatican in films, and was the Palace of Naboo in Star Wars!), and secondly the guided groups were so large... It is billed as the "Versaille of Italy", and like Versaille, there are mainly two sections for visitors: the palace itself and the gardens. Unless you are a die hard fan of southern Italian Baroque/Roccoco architecture, just look at Vanvitelli's staircase at the landing is all you need. Instead, pick up a picnic, and lots of water, and good walking... More
