This house was an absolutely fantastic experience. My husband and I went with our 3 children (11,7,4) and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day. The guided tour round D'annunzio's house was amazing and even the youngest child was fascinated by the contents. It is well worth a visit. Il Vittoriale is a short but steep walk up from the lake. This was the home of Italian poet and novelist Gabriele d'Annunzio. The house and gardens are now open to the public. It is not an easy walk around the hills side gardens, especially on a hot day, but it is well worth it for the various eccentric surprises... more
