from the outside the building looks nice and interesting, but you have to know, as a not-italian tourist, that all the churches (and most shops etc) in lecce close at about 12pm and do not open until 4 or 5pm (someone told me that on sundays everything is closed!). this was very upsetting, especially if you only have one day... Lecce's duomo is located in a square that is almost completely closed...you will also find the bishop's palace, old seminary and bell tower there...looks amazing lit up at night.

The Piazza del Duomo is very beautiful, but I found the cathedral itself a bit overdone for my rather pre-high-baroque tastes.

We just loved the square and the Duomo at night and went to see it and take some smazing photos on a couple of evenings. A must see when visiting Lecce. Jacqui & Mike New Zealand

When we turned into the Piazza we were taken aback by the beauty of this place. The church, tour and all the beautiful buildings and statues. A lovely place to see.

Beautiful city to walk about. Many ancient churches and palaces and of course wonderful food. Shops all close at 1 pm each weekday until 5.30 so beware if you are going for the shopping.

The Duomo is central in this wonderful city. It has been restored to excellent standards and is made accessible to tourists.
