Gorgeous church on the inside and out. The chapel at the front (right side) is absolutely stunning. No photo would ever do it justice.

This cathedral combines the striped marble walls of the Duomo in Florence with the mosaic facade of St. Mark's in Venice. The result is a beautiful exterior. Inside there are some wonderful frescoes and a very special chapel dedicated to the Corpus Christi miracle. Definitely worth visiting. We took a train from Rome in the morning and returned in the...

Best to be visited in the evening when the front is lighted by the eveningsun.
recommend picking up a leaflet to learn more about it. shame they've begun charging to see the inside. first experience of this in Italy ever.

Similar to Siena with no crowds...a must see. The town is delightful on a bluff overlooking great hills.
Absolutely beautiful. The facade is especially extraordinary with ornate detail that has lasted for ies. I think it should be the #1 attraction.

The street leading up was quite crowded but the Duamo itself was very peaceful. I has moorish touches and I especially liked the spiral columns with coloured glasses. It looks very grand when seen from a distance. There is a nice Wine shop - I think it was called Barbera wines which has a very good collection and you can...
