A funicular ride from the train station we love the Duomo in Orvieto. Especially fine is the lack of people and nice places to stay within a short walk.

People say this is the more beautiful duomo in Italy and they are right, you will be blown away by its beauty and stature.

The facade of the church is one of the best in all of Italy. In my opinion it is in the top 2 along with the Duomo in Florence. You can get a really cool picture of the facade from a small street directly across from the Duomo.

The Duomo absolutely dominates the own and almost seems it should belong in a much larger city. So many beautiful churches in Italy, but this one should not be missed.

Just thinking of the architecture in each Duomo visited makes me feel like I step back in time! Don't know how they did it but I sure am glad that they did!

I have been all over Italy in my 5 trips there and this is the most beautiful mosaic facade of all of the churches I've seen.
