What a pity that the reception staff are so off-hand and unhelpful, and the Ladies' WC a total disgrace (three out of action, the rest bunged up with paper) for such a marvellous collection and exhibition of ancient Greek artefacts - the like of which the Greeks would be proud to own and display to such wonderful effect. There are... More

A thrilling experience.. I agree with previous reviewers that it was an exceptional experience. It was a good combination of viewing the Greek Temples outside in situ and then touring a magnificent museum that was a gem. A very exceptional and satisfying day. We took the train from Sorrento to Naples and then the train from Naples. Well worth the... More

If you are in Naples or on the Amalfi Coast, take a day and visit the Greek and Roman Ruins of Paestum. The trip is well worth it. Make sure to go into the Archaeological Museum and see the antiquities.

So, if you want to see Greek and Roman culture in the same place? And are you in search for original Greek temples and the Mediterranean atmosphere and history? Then you go to Paestum. Ther you find it all. To walk around the ancient town is even more special than in Pompeii, I think. And the place was quiet and... More

A superb museum, covering the hstory & artefacts of the area from prehistoric times, through Greek occupation, to the Romans. The quality of the pottery exhibits is stunning, and the tombs exhibition is first-rate.

In November we had to buy our tickets to the site at the museum so decided to look around. It provided an excellent in-depth explanation of the site and there was an extensive display of artifacts. Check it out!

The ruins at Paestum are impressive, though not as much to see as Pompeii. The Museum has a good selection of artefacts, and the main thoroughfare is pedestrianised, with plenty of shops, bars, and gelaterias. It's about a half hour walk to the beach, where you will find restaurants and hotels.

Don't miss it if visiting Paestum. The tombs are a highlight, not just the diver. Well laid out in a beautiful building. Great stuff - very informative and amazing
