This zoo is a bit of a mix. You get in and there's a pretty good bear enclosure. The tigers and lions are fairly well set up too. My problems with this place were the really poor enclosures for the elephants, giraffes, zebra, rhino and sealion. Just a concrete slab to walk up and down on, the sort of thing...

This zoo is well worth a visit. The lions and tigers are in huge areas with glass windows around them so you can be so close up to them. They come up to the glass and it is as if you are able to touch them. Feeding the giraffes and elephants is also a great experience and there are little...

As per previous comment about travelling to the zoo, it was rather long winded to get there, but it wasn't the zoo's fault! We had a few transport hiccups getting to this zoo from Florence but it was worth it once we got there. The first problem was after arriving at Pistoia Train Station from Florence where we were confronted with a busy bus terminal outside with no clear signs of which line number to take.
