I spent a few hours & could have devoted more time. Autos from Europe from more than a century, not just racing cars. English audio guide is provided. I ate in the inexpensive cafeteria.

This museum is a must if you like old cars. 430 + 135 Bugattis. It is a 20 minute walk from the centre of Mulhouse. If you want to do the Museum justice you do need to plan to spend the majority of the day there. Absolutely brilliant.

From entrance to exit a thoroughly enjoyable experience - we walked up to the museum from the Hotel Bristol (maybe a 20 minute stroll) in through the new entrance to be greeted by a cheerful friendly receptionist, who was happy to take our entrance fee and suggest that we buy joint entrance tickets that would also get us into the... First briefly the history of the museum, which is only a short drive away from the city of Colmar. The Schlumpf family was one of the biggest cloth manufacturers in France, it was run by two brothers, and they mainly produced cloth for uniforms, military, police, fire brigades, railways etc. The brothers, during the downfall of the European cloth industry... My son was really looking forward to see this museum. We walked 20 minutes in freezing cold conditions (Jan 2011) to find it closed. There were at least another three families with dissapointed kids in front of the locked gate... Rather dissapointed

The collection of cars, layout of displays and location next to a tram stop makes it a must do when in this part of France or nearby Germany.

First, you need at least a full day to see and take in all the cars and the exhibits at the museum. The museum has cars dating back to the late 1800s. The museum is divided into sections: passenger cars; race cars (F1 race cars etc), and vintage cars. There is also a section dedicated to hood ornaments most of... More

After many years we went back to this great car museum where you find many French made and some foreign cars built until the late 1930ies. This collection is huge and really worth a visit. My favorites are the great Bugatti cars which made the beginning of this collection. There is also a movie which shows how a car is... More
