The gardens are extensive and very beautiful. The tour of the castle is a bit tedious and doesn't add very much to the experience of the castle. Better spend your time outside, expecially when the sun is shining.

My friends and I visited these magnificent gardens today, we enjoyed every second of our walk. Wished I've seen the trees blooming.
It has to be the best garden I have ever been to. It is well maintained. You can buy a map of the garden at the entrance. It is a must to explore all the areas in the huge garden and to understand what every statue is. The castle exterior is good, the guided tour of the interior is a...

We spent a lovely, quiet, romantic day here, strolling through all of the gardens. A Schwetzingen Castle garden stroll provides a restorative, lovely respite. The landscaping and maintenance are noteworthy.
We went there on a Sunday expecting to burn an hour or so. When we left - about 3 hours later - we wished we had planned better. There are English tours on certain days/times so plan ahead if that's what you want. The best bet is to do some research ahead of time and print out your studies with...

I stayed in Heidelberg and decide to take day trip to Schwetzingen. The castle is amazing. We did not go inside the buildings but walk along the extensive gardens, along the pond. We also visited the Mosque inside the castle. The whole place is incredibly beautiful and very well taken care off. We ate at the Schloss Cafe, they have...

If you're visiting Heidelberg, and you have time, plan a half-day side tirp to the palace gardens at Schwetzingen. It's easy to reach by car, although the public transportation connections are quite good too. The real attaction here are the gardens themselves. You can also tour the palace, although I would recommend against it. Not that remarkable and it is...

I have been there at least 20 times and I always find there something I have not seen before. It is a huge park that is attaches to the castle. it ha nice gardens, ponds and gigantic trees which witnessed the counts, dutchesses and kings.
There is a old roman viaduct, a mosk, a orangerie and of course the castle...

Went there to see the inside of the Castle but due to the fully booked guided tour (!) we stayed only for the gardens. And even though it was already cold and a bit rainy, we were amazed by the gardens! These have to be magnificent in the summer! On top of that, they are huge and there are hidden...

We only spent time in the garden but it was great. We were there a second time while they had the car show and this was even more fun. I would guess they host events there occasionally and must highly recommend it as a great place to go relax for the afternoon. Dogs are allowed on short leash. I think...
