Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a beautiful experience. I grew up with the Heidi movie and books and it was amazing to see the costumes, props and village from the movies as well as driving through beautiful Maierdorf.
It’s a narrow two way road, more like one way, up to the parking lot, buses get through as well. Then a 5-7min walk, with a toddler it took 10-15minutes and from the bottom carpark it would have been accessible with a pram or wheelchair. We parked by the Heididorf restaurant which had a narrow track to the village. Bring coins for parking. It wasn’t expensive. There are toilets at the restaurant and there is a playground. They serve delicious barley soup among other things.
Heididorf was amazing. You can buy entry tickets in the gift shop and upstairs is the museum. You can also buy goat and chicken food. You can go in and feed the goats. That was great. Lots of great displays and original movie set rooms. It all looks so authentic. Stunning views all around of the alps and wildlife. One of my favourite things to do in switzerland. A must visit!!

Driving across the Swiss meadows with cattle grazing is the picturesque Switzerland image for most of the World .Bad Ragaz and its neighbouring towns and villages of Eastern Switzerland make up "Heidiland ". Heidiland , the site and inspiration for the children's fairy tale " Heidi" written in 1881 by Swiss Authoress Johanna Spyri (1827–1901)."Heidi" is translated into 55 languages ,movies and T.V serials depicting a romantic, nature-oriented image of Switzerland of the 19th century that is still widespread today. Finally on reaching Heidiland just took photo's of the original house and entrance to Heidi House and Heidiland was 10 SF. Finally after usual photography walked downhill back to the bus pick up point where a permanant film set of Heidiland was erected for a photo shoot by tourists.

Love this place! My mom is a Heidi addict, and she even made my daughter an outfit. Great fun for us all! My daughter had a ball pretending to be Heidi.

We watched with my daughter Heidi. So she had fun in there. Its was lovely sunny day. And this village really amazing. We suddenly found ourselves at the end of the 1800s 😍

I am so happy my moms and I made it. The trip from Zurich to Heidiland is so picture perfect. We really had great time. Heidiland itself is so quiet, so serene, clean. You will juat love it.
But if you travel with seniors like i did.. the road is a bit difficut for those who had knee problems.

Visiting Heidiland is a unique experience as one gets a better perception of Heidi’s original story. A short hike from the parking lot leads one to the visitor center, where one can buy tickets to enter the property. One can also have access to restrooms at the visitor center and buy some gifts. Customer service is very friendly at the visitor center. After entering the gated property, one can visit the 2 houses. One will find several goats roaming freely on the property. Certainly would very highly recommend visiting Heidiland to any tourist.

I was in awe when we arrived at Heidiland. I had to walk around 3 times to take it all in. The food offered was fabulous. I tried a taste of several salads. All was delicious.

How can we get to heidiland from Zurich without going on a tour? Is there a train to get there?
Dear Heidi
Thank you for your message.
You can take the train from Zurich to Maienfeld. There's a bus from the train station to the Restaurant Heidihof, however, it only runs on the weekends. From the Restaurant, you'll reach the Heidi Village within 10 minutes by foot.
During the week, you'd need to walk from the train station to the Heidi Village. Please note, that walking will take you approx. 45 minutes.
Visit the website of SBB for an online timetable for the train and the bus.
If you have more questions please let me know.
Best regards
Are there two different houses summer house and winter house of Heidi?
Do we have to walk or bus is available to reach Heidi summer house?
Can we enter into both houses?
What is the fee for each house?

Buonasera mi dispiace non ho visto il suo messaggio.
Immagino nel frattempo sia già stata a Heidiland...
Comunque noi abbiamo alloggiato a Bad Ragaz all'Hotel Schloss Ragaz. Ma ci sono tantissimi altri hotel, dipende dal budget. Molto carino il Sorell Hotel Tamina proprio adiacente alle Terme. Buon viaggio!

You can get a train to Maienfeld but you need to change at Sargans. It takes just over an hour. I'm not sure how you get from Maienfeld station to the Heididorf. We went by car.

Is a visit to Heidiland and a swim nearby an easy day trip by train from Zurich?

What would be really great would be Heidiland walk in the morning with lunch on the mountain and then stop off in Bad Ragaz on the way back and go to Tamina Therme to soak and swim in the thermal water. Would definitely help with muscle aches after the uphill walk.

Just behind the station of Maienfeld is Swiss Heidi hotel. It's a new hotel, quiet.
From the station begins the path towards the village - museum. (The village - museum is Mainfeld, not in nearby Bad Ragaz. Here there was a small mistake!).
(Excuse my English !..)
