Probably the best pub in Skipton in my oppinion, always a good atmosphere, the food is of a higher standard you will find in a typical town pub, the Beer is always nice and the outside areas are done really well - it really is a hidden gem !

Went for a 'spot of lunch' and found this pub served excellent food, great beer and the staff were very attentive indeed. I had a starter of black pudding with bacon, a soft poached egg, my partner had the same. For mains I had the Ploughmans board which was both filling and gave plenty of variety too. My partner had... The wooley sheeps welcomes you with roaring fires. Nice and cosy with a very tempting menu (I had bookd elsewhere unfortunately). Skipton itself is a lovely old town with traditional stone buildings; a castle and huge church at the head of the high street. There are regular markets; a good selection of shops and individual bistros, publs and eateries. A... More

My wife and I visited this pub Saturday. We sat in the sun trap at the back of pub on the decking. The beer was good a little bit expensive but was worth it. I will call back again next time I am in area.

We stayed for 2 nights and we loved it, the staff were really friendly & helpful, the evening food was very good and breakfast was excellent, with good quality tasty local ingredients. The room was lovely, comfortable and very clean, we were on the top floor so we were not disturbed by a very pleasantly busy Saturday night bar. The... More

If you are staying in Skipton - this is the place to say. Right in the town centre, with good parking, this pub has a lovely atmosphere and really good accomodation. Our room looked brand new, and was really well decorated. The bathroom was a little compact, but the comfort and the price made this a great overnight stop. Add... More

Stayed for one night June 2008. Room 3 which was cosy and had all that we needed. Saturday night so the bar was busy in a good way. Breakfast was hearty and we chose the full English option. Car park at the rear which was a real bonus. Had a meal at the Goa spice in Skipton and is well... More

A welcome surprise. Stayed at this pub a while back whilst on holiday from Australia and found the staff and the quality of the room above average, nicely decorated - great bathroom. Highly recommended. Nice town. Don't recommend the canal trip though.
