We had problems with the staff almost as soon as we entered the building to pay. One older lady, who seemed to be in charge, was very defensive and not at all welcoming when we were asking what the prices were and if this park was one the Welsh castles that was part of the Heritage pass. (She seemed to... More

Lovely walks through the park and the boardwalk through the bog land then up to the Dinefwr Castle which we weren't able to go into as it had been closed due to safety issues. Still we had a good long walk and there are wonderful views over the Towy Valley from the castle. We didn't have much time to look... More

We felt we had the place to ourselves which I am sure made it more special! Take a walk around the Brown walk which takes around through the deer park and down to the mill pond. Walk through the bogwood walkway and up to the castle. Tea shop in the house is lovely.

This is an excellent place to spend a few hours. There are lovely walks to suit all fitness levels. The entry to the park is free but entry to the adjacent Newton House is chargable for non National Trust Members. The house is worth a visit and has lots of interesting things to see including some rare Nantgarw China .... More

A great place to visit with beautiful scenery and a lovely gentle walk through woodlands up to a castle on a hill. Also has a National Trust stately home (child friendly!) and tearooms,

Went to visit Newtown house which was brilliant. In the visitor centre they have a number of different walks with accompaning leaflets that have a wealth of information about what you'll see. Dinefwr Castle was beautiful with fantastic viws down the Towy valley. Well worth a visit.

Don't miss the rare Dinefwr White Park cattle, whose origins may go back to the Druids, who used white cattle in sacrifice. Lovely "living history" mansion, great walks.
