This is a great castle and a bit off of the main routes so when we visited it was not crowded at all. We arrived around 10 am on a Saturday but it was late in April so the summer crowds hadn't arrived! Staff in the shop were friendly, the lav was clean and thankfully it wasn't raining outside so... An excellent day out and very good value for money. We visited over Easter weekend and arrived fairly early so had no problem with parking. There was an excellent demonstration of medieval weaponry and we learnt a great deal about different arrows and their uses. We would have liked a little more information on the signs around the castle but... More

As others have mentioned previously there is only a tiny car-park near the castle so I'd try and avoid a weekend. The castle itself is quite well preserved and interesting to visit, though it won't take very long to see it all. Nice views from the castle walls and plenty of information. Very friendly lady in the ticket office.

It was a delight to be able to explore this castle fairly unrestricted! Reasonable entrance fees, plenty of information, great views and the grounds and castle remains were all maintained to a really high standard.

Won't take a whole day but a great distraction if you're in the area. Good information on the history of the castle and wider Welsh history.Great place for children to climb about on the walls.

Great Castle with fabulous views over Kidwelly certainly worth a visit. You can access some of the areas by wheelchairs, but not the higher levels

Lovingly preserved by local enthusiasts and helped out by Cadw - preservers of Welsh heritage sites. During the summer the open air theatre performances are very entertaining. The steps up the main tower are daunting but well worth the effort for the view.
