I cannot imagine a more beautiful drive, the scenery is stunning along the Antrim Coast road. You think you have seen the best, then every corner you turn opens up another spectacular view of hills, sea and glens. Make sure you visit the Giant's Causeway, you will be amazed.

We drove along this Coastal road on our way to the Giants Causeway and Bushmills. The scenery was just amazing and there are many places to stop for photo opportunities. It obviously helped as the weather was gorgeous on the day we chose to go. Never thought that northern Ireland could be so beautiful.

We travelled along the coastal route and loved it all. We enjoyed a walk along the Carnlough Harbour, had tea and scones at Cushendall, crossed the swaying pedestrian bridge at Carrick-a-Rede and finally reached The Giants Causeway. We had to pay 6pds each for parking and then walked about a kilometre to the amazing basalt columns formed over 60 million... More

Had miserable weather but overall a good trip. Sad to see so many places boarded up in the towns.

Just like driving along the western coast of the Republic, driving along the water in Northern Ireland was breathtaking. I just makes you happy. There are so many places to stop and enjoy the views. There really aren't words sufficient to review something like this: just trust me when I say you must do it.

causewaycoastalroute.com offers a comprehensive guide to the places along this scenic drive. Complied by local Art Ward it's all original content gives a wealth of information. Read it before you come or while you're here for an overview and also so "under the bonnet" info on little known local gems.
