The route follows the coast and takes you to several major tourist attractions along the way including The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, The Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and the Glens of Antrim. There are also nine scenic loop roads that run off the main Coastal Route. These are: Islandmagee, Slemish Mountain, Glenariff, Glendun, Torr Road, Glenshesk, Bann Valley, Binevenagh Mountain and the Roe Vally. One of these (Torr Scenic Road)is quite narrow so do be careful if your not used to our small roads, one tip is to pull in your wing mirrors on the Torr Road. « less

The geometrical format of the stones and the incredibly emerald waters make it a fantastic place to visit.

If you're driving to the Giant's Causeway, be sure to take this route. The views are fantastic, taking in the beautiful northern Ireland. Plenty of parking and vantage points for taking photos or having a picnic. A lot of quaint villages and towns along the route where you can stop for fuel or food. Hopefully you'll get the weather when... More

Spectacular and unexpected scenery, nice places to stop along the way for refreshment. It was good to be able to visit Giant's Causeway after hours to see the sun rise without having to pay and without the crowds.

Was expecting great views of the coast! Em think we might have taken the wrong turn! We followed the signs of which there were lot's! But really I think we must have done something wrong we did not see much of a coast at all....

From Larne to Portstewart, in my opinion one of the most beautiful drives in the world. Not to be missed is a short detour down to Ballintoy Harbour (between Ballycastle & Bushmills) which has a lovely little cafe and was used as a location in TV drama Game of Thrones. After leaving Cushendall the road takes you inland past Loughareema,... More

Take this route on sunny days! Take any other route when it rains...it is just that simple. Do stop by Ballycastle and Portrush for a light lunch.

Well worth taking time to drive the coastal route and call in at the little villages/towns along the way.

The Coastal route is stunning, winding it's way from Belfast to Londonderry through such a variety of places. The places i would most reccomend to stop along the way are Carrick-A-Rede, Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills Distillery, Kinbane Castle, Downhill Demense. We stayed in a great village just outside Bushmills, and everything was within driving distance in a morning, so... More

We took the route from Bushmills to Belfast. A lovely drive with plenty picnic and ice cream stops along the way.
