Easy parking, very pleasant welcome, the house is extremely interesting but rather dark & the guides seem very knowledgable, in fact in general the staff were friendly & efficient. Good shop & interesting book shop. If you want a good walk the gardens are good & well cared for. Sadly we found the food an expensive let-down. Suggest you eat... More

A beautiful Jacobean mansion with surprisingly few alterations, surrounded by lovingly maintained gardens. The National Trust at its best. , All in all, a wonderful experience, the marvellous interiors are well presented, and moving from room to room you feel as though the previous inhabitants are only a corner away. The family, which still lives there, has links with Sir... More

This is a National Trust property and we took a guided tour which was both informative and entertaining. The gardens are well cared for and very pleasant to walk around

Stunning grounds and house, brought back memoris of my school days with the name Throckmorton, thought I had forgotten all those history lessons. This house is truley steeped in English history with its connection with the gunpowder plot. Well worth the visit, especially if you are members of the National Trust with free entrance.

Gorgeous historic house and churches, still lived in part of it by a member of the Throckmorton family. Really interesting history to it.
