I visited Mussenden Temple as one of the key points of interest on the northern coastal route and it was definitely worth the visit. From the road you become aware of the ruins as an old stone spire rises from the tree line. The temple itself was very interesting and the views were indeed spectacular. I did however feel that... I have been to Mussenden Temple many times but this was the first time I had visited when the temple was opened to the public. It has stunning views of Castlerock and Benone beach and is a definite worthwhile visit. Mussenden Temple offers itself as a wedding reception venue and although it is quite expensive in my opinion it may... More

Walk through the old gardens and ruins of Downhill House, and come out onto a grassy and exposed clifftop with a gorgeous temple that looks like it should be in Italy. Made for a few beautiful pictures especially with the setting sun behind it. ideal for Photographers, but if its a chilly day be sure to bring a hat and... More

This is convenient to the other sights on the north coast. However, it is a long walk from the parking area to the temple. It was closed when we visited. Read up on the adjacent Bishop's Castle before going. Also the area was used during WW II for training for D-Day and many US troops were camped there. See it.

An idyllic spot in summer, although a bit windy in winter. Well worth a visit for the view on a clear day. Also, have a read of the history of the temple and the nearby Bishop's Castle .... very interesting.

The building itself is lovely, the house is really interesting to wander round and the views from the Temple are out of this world. Especially if you're steady on your legs and pop over the wall and round the corner to sit and watch the waves crashing just underneath you.

Not recommended for people who tire easily or have walking difficulties (I slipped and fell on sheep poo on the walk there!) but the view from the temple is outstanding. We also took the car onto the beach beside it and it was fantastic - definitely my favourite place along the North Coast. It was a shame that the temple... More
