We looked round the house which was fascinating, full of beautiful paintings which must be worth a fortune! We walked round the entire lake which had the most incredible vistas and enjoyed the perfume of the... More

Beautiful gardens with easily accessible short and interesting walks. Oh, and a pub & ice-cream shop on site.

Can get very busy, but if you walk off the main paths you soon get away from the crowds. Stunning gardens year round.

This was the first time that we had been to Stourhead, and we decided to visit here as the last stop on our short break in the area. Unfortunately our visit coincided with a period of bad weather where there had been heavy rain and strong winds over the previous few days. Thankfully the day we were there was dry... More

At least it didn't rain! The Gardens and estate are amazing and fascinating for the sense of period when they were put together. Some really beautiful scenes unfold as you walk round the lake. A great day out
