We live about ten miles away but had never been before but we took our four year old grandson - he loved it! Watched knights on horseback training, dressed up as a knight in armour, watched a demonstration on sword fighting, ran us into the ground as we explored the grounds, ate a lovely jacket potato and slept on the... We went to see the Medieval Jousting at Bolsover castle and it was FANTASTIC!!! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We've been to Bolsover Castle before and had a really good time; I really like the audio tours, which allow you to take in what you want at the pace you want... and the views are beautiful. A lovely property, well kept with a good audio tour. The different periods of the castle are visible and well explained and it made for a lovely day out. They also organised historical activities, from fool lessons and archery to sword fighting demonstration. A very good day out
