A lovely place and a fantastic place to spend with the family, or for a couple. We went and had the most wonderful day out. The gardens and views were spectacular. more

Just got back from a morning at Chatsworth - I can't argue it is a beautiful estate and stunning part of the country. BUT it has just cost me over £30 for 1 Senior, 2 Adults and 1 3 year old (who is free of charge) to go into 5 or so rooms in the house to view the christmas... more

We have been to Chatsworth five times in three years. This year we stayed in the 16th century hunting lodge overlooking the house for 4 nights -- a well-outfitted kitchen, a lovely reception room, two splendid bedrooms, and the best view in England. We picked up food at the Chatsworth farm shop, parked the car, and never left the grounds.... more

Chatsworth is undoubtably beautiful, but oh,the extortionate admission prices, price of drink and food, and to cap it all, a £2 car parking charge, to what is a bumpy gravel strewn field. If driving, beware the very tight bridge that leads up to the house. Why there is no controlled flow of traffic over it,god only knows. It all had the feel of... more

We went in August so pretty busy and although was a queue to pay we were only waiting for 10 minutes or so - in fact we should have got tickets online beforehand and then fast tracked our way in. We decided to get the full ticket, guide book and the guided tour which was well worth it. Our guide... more

I recently had the chance to visit Chatsworth Estate. I’ve visited many stately homes in the past but I have to say that this was one of the most lovely I’ve seen so far. While the entry fee is rather high, the art and sculptures inside the house are incredible. The gardens are also lovely. If you have seen films... more

As of Mid-May 2009 there was scaffolding in two large sections along the side and front corner of the house. We realized that this was ultimately going to make the tours of the home better but we were still a little disappointed. The inside of the home, however, was impressive. We enjoyed the Georgiana Exhibit. The property surrounding the home... more

After living in Derbyshire for several years, i felt that it was important to visit this magnificent statley home. On family arriving from Canada we decided that now was the best time. I was astounded to find that the full family ticket was a staggering £48.00, which i deem as extortionate!!!! Sadly i believe the cost of the ticket tinged... more

I've been to Chatsworth three times now - early spring, mid-summer and the day before it closed in December. Each time, there is something to delight, though I must say the flowers are best in summer (tho' the crowds are larger, too). Of the many English estates/great houses I've visited, (or in other parts of the world, for that matter),... more
