Ancient property, interesting but you do not get a feel for people actually living there - at least in the areas on view. Very nice garden. Medium walk from parking lot to property and up a steep hill to the Hall. We had a very nice lunch in the cafeteria. They had some of the dishes of the pattern -... More

This is the stately home I'd most like to live in; when the guide said 'This is the last modernisation - 1599' she summed up this gem of a house. Beautifully located with lovely terraced gardens, it is still a family home and you get that impression. You simply have to visit it if in the area. The car park... More

This is a great house with really lovely formal gardens and a nice cafe. The little museum is fascinating, and the rooms are well presented. My only quibble would be that for a house with relatively few guides is that the in room information could be more detailed. It would be nice to have both a quick info sheet and... More

This is a lovely hall, older and very different from nearby Chatsworth. It is a 'must visit ' when you are in the Bakewell area. The house, courtyard, chapel and gardens are very attractive and you can enjoy the cafe on the way out. The car park is on th emain road and then you must walk to the house... More

I absolutely loved it here. It the best stately home I have ever visited in my opinion. Every room could be walked into when I visited which I loved about it. Some place have restrictions

Haddon Hall is made of local stone, and is elegant but simple, uncluttered and spacious. It is not suitable for those elderly visitors who find steps difficult, although if you ask, sometimes a minibus is provided to take people to another entrance. For some older people there is quite a walk from the car park to the cafe and on... More

Haddon Hall is an interesting site but relatively small. Although it is different it is not in the same league as say Chatsworth House. It took less than an hour to see the whole site. It is a bit expensive. We had scones and coffee in the restaurant. The scones were great, the coffee ok. They could do with installing... More

Sadly the house wasn't open when we visited so do check opening times. We enjoyed the garden but felt the restaurant was only passable. Tables weren't cleaned away of used items despite it not being very busy

Thank you for your review. We're a bit confused. If the house was not open, then you would have been unable to see the gardens as access is through the house. We are open daily from 12 noon with the Restaurant opening slightly earlier at 11am. Please could you clarify when you visited and at what time. It is important... More

A really wonderful day out yesterday , went with 15 friends and we had to pay £1.50 for the car park then £9.00 to get in £8.50 if you had a concession, quite pricey. Beautiful gardens to walk about in but when you reach the house it self you are met by a women who didn't ask politely could we... More
