Attractive gardens and an interesting house. Plenty for the kids if you have them and a pretty good cafe. The garden centre is expensive though. More

Well, arriving at the hut next to the big horse and being charged rather a lot of money I was expecting something special. I was not disappointed. Although I am not what one might call a connoisseur of horticultural display the gardens were to me absolutely stunning. They are extensive beyond belief (i spent four hours lost, just trying to... A bit of a queue to get in, i didn't mind that, what i did mind was the exorbitant price. £31 for me, my wife, and our two sons was a lot of money, especialy as everything else costs extra once inside. The gardens are spectacular though, a credit to whoever designs and maintains them. The borders are particularley impressive,... More

We went as a three generation group ( 82 to ten months crawling!) There was plenty for all. The little train, even in the wet was lovely. The cafe was a great retreat in the worst of the weather. The paths were great for a pushchair and the seats for pauses for the elders in our family. The picnic area... More

I took my nephews who were 8 and 5 and my two sons, 5 and 2 and baby daughter. Not very child friendly and too many hazards to mention. There was nothing for my 2 year old to play on apart from a sand pit and a swing. Nothing was enclosed so we had to keep constant watch and spent... More

OK so we had a nice day but for the cost you should get lots more---the £27 entrance for our family was very reasonable on the surface (we booked online to save on the normal £31) but when you consider the add-ons it wasn't that great--we had to pay an extra £8.00 for the 5 of us to go on... More

We had a great time at Newby Hall. At first we were a little taken aback by the entrance cost. £41 seemed a bit excessive but the ticket just to go into the grounds was more reasonable. It was well worth it. The adventure playground was great fun. There are boat swings, a sandpit, a raft, pedal boats, a zip... More

My husband and I enjoyed our visit to the house and gardens. The sculptures in the house were well worth the visit. We did, however, find the restaurant prices far too high and if we visited again we would take our own food. I have friends who go with children and they take picnics though if prices were reasonable they... More

We got a family season ticket this year which is very good value and means we can just pop in for an hour or two each time. The kids aged 4 and 6 love the playground. It's nicely spaced out with lots of different play equipment from swing boats, sandpit to zip wire. The gardens are lovely, plenty of room... More

We thought that Newby Hall was very good. The adventure park for children looked as if it was newish and was very good. The model railway, although not included in the entrance price, was lengthy and relatively good value. Purchased food...although not cheap...was good quality. On the day we visitsd, there were several choirs and bands performing which added a... More
