We played 18 holes with hired clubs and pull along trundles - it is a challenge! The course is very long but fantastic. The views from most of the holes spectacular.

We had a nice day with testing breeze.classic links in beautiful surroundings.back 9 is something special in the sun.14,15,16 are links heaven.food in the clubhouse will also exceed expectations and good value.buggies are top quality also.enjoy!
While its nice to play the famous courses of the Southwest...you must get to the Northwest. The courses are cheaper and just as good. Carne will have you carving drivers, long irons and wedges thru the dunes. Spectacular views all throughout the course.
Great variety with the natural links, they have everything you could need and it's very near the town of Belmullet. If your only out for nine holes I would do the 10-18 for the scenic views
Went to the area with my boyfriend and all he did for two days was rave about this wonderful area and the Carne golf course. He simply loved the place, and quite frankly, so did I. While I am not a golfer the beauty of the course and the area, and the friendly people, made me so happy we visited....

The back nine on the atlantic are just fantastic, the fairways are open and the doons are mountainous. One of the best courses I've ever played. Watch out for those grayback crows one of them lifted my ball. Altogether a thrilling course to play.
This was my second visit to Carne and it was very windy that day. I got hooked up with a group from Minnesota and it was an enjoyable day. I'd say Carne is as incredible as Ballybunion but I'm not Tom Watson. If you go be sure to have lunch or dinner at the clubhouse.
Yes it is in the middle of nowhere - but the course is stunning - enjoy 14th-18th great holes -
8 of us were on a four day golf trip in the Sligo /Mayo area and Carne was supposed to be the highlight. Unfortunately this was not the case. The general maintenance of the course is very poor and the fairways are bare and patchy. Greens are a disgrace with little grass and patchy surface at best. We finished playing...
