We researched the different routes available in this Forest Park but we still had difficulty finding the one we wanted.Eventually we noticed that there were little feet signs on trees and they were colour coded.We chose Sli an Easa which doesn't mean easy but Waterfalls Walk.It was very steep in places and the 10/11 year olds found it hard going... Plenty of picnic areas, loads of walks and loads to see!!

A great place for families - very busy (for the time of year) with families enjoying picnics, etc. at each of the many designated very discreet picnic areas, with children having a great time running through the trees, across streams, down paths, etc. Gougane Barra is a very special place.

If there are fairies in Ireland and leprecauns...there has to be some still here......magical...and the little church...wow.

Many different walks of varying levels in this beautiful area. Its only about an hour's drive from cork city which makes it very accessible.
