We were very impressed with the information on the board by the car park also the castle is in a dramatic setting on the Estuary. Disliked the rain and the barbed wire .The birds with their red legs and bills were a beautiful site.

We chose a lovely day to drive to the Ballycarbery Castle ruins, lots of sunshine and got such great pictures. The tide was out however, would love to return and take pictures when the time was in. I love exploring old ruins and this is fantastic! Highly recommended.

I'm in total agreement with the previous review. This castle was fun with a capital F!! The ruins are fantastic and it's possible to get quite high up - not sure how wise this was though - as there really was nothing safe about doing so - but there are so few opportunities to take your life in your own...
