We've been regular visitors to Fota now for a long time. Our dd loves seeing the animls and some do get really close to you. My main complaint is the baby change situation. We visited Fota Wildlife park - it takes about 90 minutes to walk around slowly. There are lots of animals just wandering loose around the park which the children love. This is a quite outstanding day out and knocks most wildlife parks into a cocked hat. The animals are not penned in (apart from the cheetahs) but are behind fairly subtle fences. This is a good place to visit with the family. It's only a short drive or train ride from Cork City Centre. Good selection of animals to view which all roam around in an open-setting. There are a couple of playgrounds within the park as well for the little ones to use up all that energy! more
