We went here with our 2 children and our eldest son (3.5) loved it! Many of the animals (obviously the non dangerous ones) are roaming around and cross your path as you walk along. As you enter the park the first thing you see are the giraffes and at first glance it seems they are roaming freely, my son thought... more

We've been regular visitors to Fota now for a long time. Our dd loves seeing the animls and some do get really close to you. My main complaint is the baby change situation. There are 2 for the whole park, and usually filthy dirty with plenty queue time when busy. The toilets are also grim. Horrible food in the 'restaurant',... more

Expected this to be a little more open, but in reality is not much different that a modern Zoo. more

We visited Fota Wildlife park - it takes about 90 minutes to walk around slowly. There are lots of animals just wandering loose around the park which the children love. Bring 50c for the duck feed and feed the ducks too - main attraction for my toddler ! Only advice is to get there when it opens as it gets... more

This is a quite outstanding day out and knocks most wildlife parks into a cocked hat. The animals are not penned in (apart from the cheetahs) but are behind fairly subtle fences. We daytripped to Fota from Clonakilty (about an hour to the west) on two separate visits to Ireland. Both times, it was one of the true highlights of our trip. This last time my 5 year old was along and she was absolutely entranced. The lemurs had newborns (hanging from the fur on their belly, all snuggled up) and they... more

This is a good place to visit with the family. It's only a short drive or train ride from Cork City Centre. Good selection of animals to view which all roam around in an open-setting. There are a couple of playgrounds within the park as well for the little ones to use up all that energy! more

We took the train from downtown Cork to the Fota Wildlife Park. What a perfect outing! The train ride is only 15 minutes and cost 9 Euro for the family (2 adults 3 kids). Well worth it. If you take the train it drops you off at the back entrance to the park. Also by coming in by train, you... more
