I loved this castle - it is very well preserved and is situated beautifully. I went to a million castles and homes in Ireland, and for some reason, this was my absolute favorite. more

I visited Aughnanure Castle during my recent trip to Ireland. We found the castle completely by accident whilst on the way to the Glengowla Mines and decided to go and have a look. The property is owned by Heritage Ireland and so admission is very reasonable. We bought a guide of the castle for 50 cents but you can also... more
