Excellent condition - they were painting up the place while we visited in preparation for the Summer season

You really should pay to go inside the Fort at Dunree, the views you get are beyond beautiful, it is such and interesting place and the little dvd show is worth seeing too. The coffee shop is spotlessly clean, and the lady there is so lovely. A real place of history and definately worth a visit..

Living in Buncrana for nearly 23 years and nobody ever encouraged me to visit Dunree. Spectaular - i took 2 btls of lucozade to do the walks but was totally exhillorated by the experience. You have to have been to Dunree to say that you have visited Inishowen.

The fort has a long and varied history both under the control of the British and Irish governments. During visit you are able to tour the site with fantastic views while learning it's history, some things are still in place like the search lights and some weapons.

Beautiful scenery, well maintained and informative displays, some good temporary art exhibitions as well as the permanent displays on military history.

To be honest there is very little to do in Inishowen except to admire its beauty and history. Great fort and somewhere different to bring the kids.

The coffee was ordinary, the service was ordinary too but if there is a coffee shop in Ireland with a nicer view, let me know where it is!

This fort is worth visiting for historic reasons, but what really impresses me when I go there is the fantastic scenery and wonderful setting its set in.
