It is a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, and ornamental lakes together with secret hollows, rambling walks, walled gardens and over 200 varieties of trees and shrubs. The House was gutted by fire in 1974 but recently has been reborn as an exceptional tourist destination. An audio visual brings to life the rich history of the Estate, while the double height Georgian Ballroom has been restored and hosts wedding and special events. The House is now home to the best in Irish design in gifts, clothes and furniture in the Avoca Stores and Interiors Gallery. Treat yourself to lunch at the Terrace Cafe where you can enjoy exceptional food, from each loaf of Irish bread to Mediterranean tarts or extraordinary salads. « less

Love it here and always take visitors as it's just such a beautiful place. On a nice day, it is such a nice place to just stroll around and the kids loved making their way through the japanese gardens. Tea and cake in Avoca cafe afterwards is also a must!!

We held our wedding reception at Powerscourt House early May. Wow, what a venue! Our guests came from 15 countries around the world, and they were blown away by the views and the venue. The sun shone brightly that day, so everyone got excellent views of the picturesque gardens and countryside. Special mention to Feast catering, Annette and Darryl, for... More

We actually stumbled here on accident while in Dublin and looking for things to do on good friday. Many places were closed, but this place was not and we were lucky to see it in all it's glory. I first read about the house and gardens in Rick Steve's book. I knew it was a place I would like to... More

With beautiful vistas in every direction Powerscourt Gardens should not be missed. As a knee replacement on the mend sixty-something, I was able to traverse the whole Garden. The flowers and trees are mature and beautiful. Every area was a delight to the eye.

We attended a wedding here in May and it was fantastic. The venue itself was superb and provided a wonderful setting for all the guests and most importantly featured in the photos of bride and groom. We only got a quick glimpse of the actual house and gardens themselves but what we did see was very impressive and I would... More
