The gardens are lovely with plenty of variety, formal settings to wild meadows. The views over the Dee estuary to Wales are an added bonus. The Azaleas are all out at the moment and make a stunning display. There's a nice cafe and small shop with a plant shop outside. Well worth a visit.

Somehow in 45 years of visiting Liverpool we had not got to Ness Gardens on the Wirral, a beautiful area south of the Mersey in Cheshire. What a shame as Ness is a glorious array of colours and shapes and perfumes. Rhodedendrums, camellia, azalea, magnolias, vibrant tulips-a spectaculat orange variety in particular-an alpine house, a conservatory with jasmine and a... More

Educational as well as pleasant. Good restaurant and facilities, and plenty of exercise in the extensive grounds. Deserves more publicity as it is rather hidden away; knowledge staff on hand to answer most botanical questions. and to inspire you to enhance your own knowledge and experience of gardening.
