The last time I visited a place like this was as a child in the 1970's - but that's not a good thing. This place clearly has great potential but it obviously needs a serious make over!

Throughout the summer they hold a variety of interesting fairs plus the house and the priory are a good tour.
Michelham Priory is lovely, well worth a visit, with friendly and informative staff. Both inside and out there is a lot to see.
The experience is a little uneven in places though. The cafe was very disappointing this time - hard, stale scones, described by my mum as "the Rock of Gibraltar", and terrible bacon baps - the cheapest possible...
