This is a lovely day out for old and young alike but better on a day it is sunny, take a picnic and enjoy the walks and all the native bush and birds. They have a new kiwi chick and a lot of tuataras which are interesting. Don't miss the 2pm eel feeding!

Its so unlikely for tourists to see Kiwi in the wild, that it is next best to see them in a nature preserve. They have a darkened room and you can watch the feeding of the Kiwi. They have some beautiful specimens of native flora and fawna and walking trails to enjoy. Great for birding. Nice little shop .

This is relatively a less-known attraction around Wellington, but we definitely recommend to visit. The kiwi house is a good chance to see the kiwis, some bird cages provide you to look at NZ native birds, such as kereru, kea, tui and so on.
