Took the train up to the top, and then hiked back to the station. A very nice and pleasant hike. The train is a bit expensive.

A great fun day out for the family. Well worth visiting. Make sure you allow for a few hours to spend at the summit, and bring a camera, the views are spectacular in good weather.
We took the train up to La Rhune in the first week of July 2011.
It was a really enjoyable trip, the scenery was beautiful and we saw plenty of pottocks on the way up and at the summit (about 30 in total). We also saw some of the local sheep and mountain vultures.
