A warm bright day helps when you visit this varied garden. Three well signed woodland walks of different lengths give you a choice of exercise (buy a good value map). The formal gardens are well maintained (as usual for National Trust properties) and the beds will be at their best in a month or so and this would probably up... More

Last week was the second time that we have been to Nymans and so we knew what to expect, but I was left feeling a little bit disappointed with our trip. Hopefully this was just because we went at the wrong time of the year and that it is just a "phase" as my mother would say. Don't get me... More

i have visited these gardens many times and can recommend a visit at any time, this year I decided to visit the woodland, this a separate area and you can enter it without paying the admission fee to the gardens. At this time of year (early May) it is carpeted with bluebells and there are primroses, violets, wood anemonies and... More

I lovely place to stop on my journey, so much more relaxing than a service station. Lovely walks around the gardens seeing the spring flowers and great views. I didn’t have enough time for the woodland walks. The staff in the entrance were very helpful. I had soup which was tasty but quite expensive for the size of bowl. The... More

Being close to home, we visit fairly frequently. There is always something of interest, at all times of year, right through from the darkest and dankest days of winter. The gardeners must work enormously hard to make sure there are masses of flowers in every season. The more formal gardens (though I use the term "formal" loosely, everywhere here is... More

We had a lovely morning here. My daughter (and husband!) especially liked the woodland walk, with trees to climb, hammocks and a little outdoor theatre!

We visited these gardens recently and were impressed by the well kept attractions. Impressive range of plants, wonderful landscapes and views. Before we left we visited the restaurant for tea. YUK! Foul tasting water, stale scones, poor service. We thought this must be a one-off bad experience so we went back again a week later. This time it was worse!... More

Nymans is absolutely beautiful, with different highlights each season. We have visited on each trip to England, and it is still stunning. The perennial borders, sunken garden, rose garden... there is something beautiful around every corner. On our most recent trip in August 2011, they had expanded the grounds to include long secluded woodland walks. Much to my son's enjoyment... More
