One to visit for the chateau bumfs and so much history

this castle gives a good indication of why he was the Conqueror stunning. The staff are lovely and there are frequent medieval re-enactments taking place below the castle walls

This is a wonderful historic site and helps make the Battle of Hastings in 1066 more understandable. The information provided is great. Don't forget Normandy is not only about D-Day there is a 1000 years of other history here too!

The restoration of the battlements and chateau are excellent. Views from the top of the tower are spectacular, giving panoramic views over the town and the surrounding countryside. Work on restoration of curtain wall is still under way, but the bastion behind the visitor centre is already accessible.
