Although the chateau in itself, built at the end of the 19th century is not really old, though representative of its time which is not the one I prefer, the painting collection inside are great and really desserve a visit.

A 34 minute train ride from Gare de Lyon can take you to an enchanting town and chateau. The Chateau of Chantilly is off the beaten track for most travelers to Paris. The town is very nice with many restaurants and shops but the main attraction is the Chateau and the adjoining Great Stables. We went there recently and were...

Very beautiful building from the outside and nice parkland grounds to wander through. We visited with a 6 year old not too fond of walking and a 70 year old so we didn't get to walk through as much of the grounds as we would have liked. The actual inside of the chateau was lovely but only 3 or 4...

Just 40 min drive from Paris - very attractive chateau, also for people who love horses- chevalier museum. In 15 min beautiful town Senlis - look at cathedral in the center- walk and have lunch! Enjoy a good day)))
To do justice to this chateau you really need a whole day. It is vast and so are the gardens and no trip is complete without seeing either the stables or a horse show. You can buy a joint ticket and then there is a good saving compared with two separate tickets. Buy them on line if at all possible...

It is great place for a day visit. Nice park and great artwork collection in a very well preserved Chateau. Horse stables also worth your time
The chateau looks like a fairy-tale palace. It's small enough to visit without the boredom/fatigue setting in &, unusually for french historic monuments, you can visit self-guided - no compulsory tours!
The chateau itself has two parts - an art gallery (incl several famous old masters) & sumptous rooms. The latter are furnished tp period & interesting. Teenage lads may...

This castle has it all: on a lake with swans, drawbridge, moat, and a lovely inner courtyard. It was built for the Conde family, not a king, and it has an art collection that some say make it a mini-Louvre. There is a chapel and a library displaying a copy of the Tres Riche Heures of the Duc de Berry....

Beautiful and part of history, a must see, the whole chateau is to be seen and take your time to observe the many details. The architecture and plan are breathtaking. The interior is fabulous and take your time to walk around the painting room, huge and full of history.
Well worth the good part of a day. The royal stables...

Loved the train trip out and walk through town, with sizeable English expat community, to get to chateau. Loved the fact there were no crowds even at Christmas. Stunning horse show and stables. Art work in chateau was amazing as was fact that this had been privately owned once. Our best outing!
