My wife and I traveled with Hurtigruten up the coast of Norway in the beginning of may. When we got to Svolvaer, we were recommended a visit to Magic Ice! We only had an hour before continuing on, but Magic Ice is only one hundred meters to along the pier. We didn't know what to expect but we were really... More

What a rip off! The entrance was 95 Norweign Krona (over £10), and you were finiished in less than 10 minutes if you were really slow. Maybe it was because it was March, but some of the sculptures had begun to melt. There were a few that were spectacular, but many that were broken & had not been repaired. There... More

magic ice looks pretty underwhelming from the outside but the inside is great - the sculptures, atmosphere and bar are all a high standard. as is the wine. it is only a small exhibition so don't bank on spending more than an hour here - we did it as a stop off on the hurtigruten route and the timing was... Great venue with numerous ice carvings. Enjoy a drink from a glass made from ice while sitting comfortably on an fur covered ice arm chair. Great place for any age group but wear your winter woolies as the temperature is sub-zero.

This place was great. You can marvel the huge ice sculptures and "live" the story thanks to music and light effects. Drinks were awesome too. Definitely a must while in Svolvaer.

Magic Ice is a converted industrial fish freezing warehouse filed with ice sculptures and an Ice bar with novel ice glasses that you just can't put down. It is the best thing to do during the short 1 hour trip on a Hertigruten cruise, there is still quite a strong smell of fish and the constantly looped music will get... More

The Magic Ice is one of two quick visit options when arriving in Svolvaer on the Hurtigruten (Hurtigruta) ship for its scheduled one hour stop from 9 p.m. until 10 p.m. I visited here three times between late February and the end of March 2010. On disembarking from the ship, go through the Havneterminalen, about 100 feet in front of... More
