despite several disasters that have struck this line over the last few years, with emergency appeals still ongoing, this is definately in the top of the premier league of preserved railways with impressive line-up's of both steam & heritage diesel loco's.

I paid a visit on a Saturday and it was reasonably busy. At present (May 2012) there is only a partial service due to a landslip last year in the midle of the line. However, I had a pleasant run in the diesel unit as far as the train was allowed towards Winchcombe and back to the north of the... More

I would recommend anyone with interest of railways and of how things used to be come here. The station was bulldozed away by British Rail and then rebuilt as near to how it was later on by dedicated people once it had passed into preservation. Well worth the trip.

This railway is a lovely attraction for the family to vist and enjoy. It is surrounded by lovely scenery. The staff are all ready to attend to your needs. On board the train hot bacon rolls are served to order, plus home made cakes, for which people return to enjoy. Presently running with steam between Winchcombe and Cheltenham Race Course... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant and nostalgic journey through the Cotswold countryside. Everything well maintained and in good condition, from flower beds through to rolling stock. Carriages were exceptionally clean and warm. Very evident that an immense amount of work and effort has gone into this railway.

My son and I visited here last month and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We arrived at 9 o clock just as it was opening and a member of staff was on hand to show us around and point us in the direction of a cafe where we had a bacon roll. Bit expensive but service was good. Unfortunately due to a... More
