Situated at Old Parliament House, this museum was a great way of learning of the development of democracy in Australia. Friendly staff, great service....we loved it...definitley go

Really first-rate attraction. We were lucky and were shown round by a delightful gentleman who used to be a parliamentary assistant and who entertained us with ever-so-slightly indiscreet, amusing and entertaining stories about people and times past. We were given access to all areas and our guide explained everything beautifully. It was a most enjoyable couple of hours.
Being Australia's Old Parliament House, the idea to turn it into a museum of democracy seemed a natural choice for this fabulous building. While, I doubt foreign visitors would appreciate the many idiosyncrasies of Australian politics, every Australian visiting the national capital should endeavour to potter around viewing the many interesting exhibits in these now abandoned

This is a great place to go on a behind the scenes tour otherwise a bit dull.
We went with our 4 year old and headed right to the kid's section. It was amazing and interactive - definitely worth a few hours with the kids.
It's a very quiet, contemplative and informative walk. The story of Australian Democracy is very interesting and enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the portraits of the past Prime Ministers and the stories of events over the past 100 years or so. Overall, a very good couple of hours.
Great exhibitions and a terrific use of a wonderful building. As the old parliament house it contains interesting historical and artistic pieces. On top of that the exhibitions of modern political work - such as the political cartoons each year - are fascinating.
It was the old Parliament House & I can still envisage news clips of Gough Whitlam out the front "God Save the Queen, because nothing will save the Governor-General" Inside has various exhibits - so allow yourself enough time as there is lots to see.
