A well informed guided tour is worthwhile. Much to see and learn from the experience.

The museum is cleverly designed, leading you through the history of the Australian military from it's first engagements to today's expeditionary forces.

A very thoughtful, tasteful and fascinating museum. The japanese sub raids on sydney harbor display and the WWII displays are the most interesting (for me). I'd recommend at least half a day here. It is worth going up into the hall of remembrance an placing a poppy on the wall - even if you don't have a loved one with... More

Allow a whole day to visit the AWM - there is so much to see. The collections are fantastically presented. The Vietnam exhibition uses lighting, video and effects to present an amazing experience. Make sure you stay till 5pm when a lone piper or bugler plays the closing ceremony, it is very moving. A truly amazing memorial to the young... More

A very well put together museum. Allow a minimum of 3 hours to see or spend all day there like I did! Truly fascinating place and one that you can see more than once.

Very moving Commerative Area and Hall of Valour. So many areas of interest that we could not do it justice in 2 days. Probably a visit of 2 to 3 days is required for the museum alone. The WWI area with the famous dioramas are a must as well as the excellent and extensive WWII rooms. One negative was the... More

On a whim we visited the memorial to see if we could find out any information about our great grandfather and we were not disappointed. The volunteers were very friendly and a font of knowledge. We found out some very useful information and have the tools to investigate further!
