You CANNOT visit without being moved, deeply moved as I was. And I am going again in Jan 2012. It is good for the soul to be in "such company" of heroes, honoured by such memorials; but it also reminds you why we do not wish to build more.
The Australian Hellenic Memorial pays tribute to the only true ANZAC force formed during WW2, who fought in Greece. The Memorial is based around an amphitheatre, with a cross, a pillar and a stone outcrop, all with unique symbolism. A complex and touching memorial.
