Visited the Zoo with my extended family - was fun chasing the kangaroos and waking up the wombat!! The Zoo occupies 25 acres of land just five minutes from the centre of Canberra, where you can see both native and exotic animals (http://www.nationalzoo.com.au/visitor_info_animals.htm) , as well as the largest inland saltwater tank in Australia. The zooquarium is a fun place to go in Canberra, in terms of being a zoo and an aquarium it doesn't really match the quality of Sydney Zoo or aquarium, but admission is cheap and its an enjoyable place to go. There is a decent range of animals, but the aquarium part is a bit on the small side more

I'd give it a 5. Our whole family have now done the "Meet-A-Cheetah" tour and the "A Touching Experience" tour. My wife & daughter did it for their birthdays in 2006 and so obviously enjoyed both that they bought my son and I the same tours for our 2007 Christmas. Meet A Cheetah is 1-2 people at a time interacting... more

We went to the zoo based on a friends experience and did the cheetah experience and the afternoon zoo experience. We wern't sure what to expect but loved both tours. I highly recommend for anyone that loves animals. Tours were very hands on as well as informative. For the afternon tour we literally got to feed the lions, tigers, cougers... more
