Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Informative slide slow and commentary and tour around the sanctuary. Can see koalas up close. Run by volunteers and the tours are a way to provide more awareness of the plight of the koalas and some additional funding by way of a donation. Well worth your support.

A beautifully run Place.
For the Koalas...arguably the top Icon of Australian Wildlife....
ask a little kid if they want a Kangaroo or a Koala Bear cuddlebuddy....
I went for the Koala when I was a kid!
To see these sweethearts up close was a thrill. And the lady showing me told me what to look for up the trees.
A round shape.
Still looking...One day I'll see a wild one.

Highly recommended for a visit & your $ support please!
Informed, caring staff & volunteers...at this special, low key Friends of Koalas in Lismore.
What an inspirational, dedicated and well trained "bunch of locals"...volunteers & staff.
So proud of the work they do here in Lismore protecting the injured koalas, healing the sick ones and so generously providing for the others in their care with freshly gathered leaves ....daily....awesome!
Makes me feel proud to be part of this Northern Rivers community.

I especially do not like money-making-zoos. So this was a great chance to see a koala close up. Theres a very informative talk about how they rescue and then help the animals. Plus a short tour of the small complex. Where can see the Koalas and there is no pressure to donate (even though i did). A lovely little charity, with great volunteers. Animals are well looked after and they will release if they can, but some are there, because they have no chance in the wild.

We highly recommend this place to everyone who would like to learn about these little furry animals. Place is ran by lovely volunteers who are doing great job in trying to save koalas population in NSW. The lady who ran our tour shared with us a lot of interesting facts and information about koalas behaviour and type of work the volunteers are doing every day. Can’t praise this place enough!! ;)

We learnt so much about the risks to Koalas and what work is done here to help them. If you are visiting Australia and want to meet Koalas than this is far better than going for a cuddle. The passionate and dedicated staff here work to rescue and rehabilitate Koalas so they can go back to their natural homes. Go along and support Friends of the Koala!

We found this centre through the lonely planet guide book, and decided to come on a tour. Although small, the tour was informative and interesting - I had no idea that the koala population was in such a steep decline. The work carried out at this centre is entirely unfunded by the government and relies on volunteer work and private donations. I highly recommend a visit and please give generously - for a worthy cause!

If you would like to learn about how koalas are born and live, this is a good place to go. You can learn a lot about how they are increasingly endangered, and the challenges they face. It is also great to see and learn how they take care of them, to prepare them to return to the wild (when possible). [review by Juliet, 8 years old!]
