If you're in the area, wander past. It's a lot nicer than any other building in the area. The steps are time honoured place to meet people. But it's not going to blow your socks off.

Currently getting a much needed face lift. Pity we don't get to use the Town Hall for more in the way of exhibitions, etc.

Some buildings just remind me of historical Australia, and the Sydney Town Hall is one of them. Beautiful columns and a large tower, the building flanked by leafy green trees and presents quite a spectacle. In the entrance alcove is some nice plaques and dedication plates. A nice building in the centre of Sydney and worth a look.

I had to go the Town Hall for Environmental Health. The desk clerks were very helpful, nothing too much trouble for them

Most trains and buses will pass Town hall station. In the days before mobile phones, we would meet each other on the steps. It is made from beautiful Hawkesbury sandstone. It has just completed a major refurbishment inside, which I have not yet seen. It is next to the Queen Victoria building (another beautiful sandstone building full of small shops... More

The Sydney Town Hall stand proudly in the centre of Sydney city. The architecture is amazing. The wide steps to the front entrance are used by many people at any given time of day just to sit and watch the world go by. Many concerts and other exhibitions are held there.
