My wife and I did this despite my wife's reluctance, she suffers from seasickness ! She said afterwards that it was the highlight of the OZ trip ! She wasn't sick and we were both moved by the humpbacks and saw some dolphins too! Worth every penny!! Do it!! :))

For our final day in Sydney (November 21st) it was a toss-up between Taronga and whale watching. My brother said the cages in Taronga are far too small for the animals, which put me off..and besides, you can visit a zoo anywhere you like, but where can you whale watch? The decision was pretty easy to make, and we're so... More

Went with my two children, 4 and 5 and half. The sights of the whales and the chase was amazing. We had an awesome time. Definitely one of the most worthwhile trip. Get the tickets online to enjoy online discount.

I did this tour with my disabled brother. We both enjoyed it immensely, but were disappointed to discover that the ship's photographer doesn't travel on a Monday, which is the day we took the tour. Unfortuneatley, the whales, & there were plenty of them around, were having a quiet day...we didn't get to see anything really close, but saw a... More

I found our cruise disappointing. The advertising suggested that they used searchlight sonar to find the whales underwater. This was not the case instead the passengers and crew all looked in different directions until someone found something. When we did find a whale we followed it the entire cruise. It felt like we were whale hunters rather than watchers. There... More

I am sorry you were disappointed about your trips, I'll try to address some of your issues. The Searchlight sonar is a helpful tool , but it has a number of limitations and 9 times out of 10 it is faster and more reliable to spot the whales with your eyes when they come up. It was installed primarily as... More

We had a great trip out with this company. We can't make a comparison because this is the only one we've tried but they were very good. We took the 3 hour trip which means you have a bigger boat and more facilities and shelter. It took a while to locate a whale, but in the meantime a couple of... More

Booked afternoon trip with Captain Cook Cruises, the smaller boat (max 75 people) as they offered 100% money back if no whales sighted. Day of our trip weather was perfect, blue skies and hardly any wind. There were only about 50 people on the boat which meant everyone who wanted to sit outside on the upper decks could. Trip was... Our guide said the whales were more plentiful than he had seen in a long time. We followed several groups of humpback whales. One came right next to the boat! The others were probably 100 yards away. They frequently "pec slapped", waved at us with their dorsal fin. It was more than we expected. The captain was even amazed at... More

Caught the Whale watching boat from Sans Souci wharf, and what a fantastic day. Whale watching was amazing, we saw 6 pods and 2 whales breached. The weather was perfect and the skipper (Mr. Ford Snr) was a wealth of information. Absolutely fantastic and would recommend it. We are going back again in September for the migration south.
