The Tourist Centre was manned by a ex-school teacher the day we popped in to ask about the sights worth seeing, buy maps and purchase some postcards for family/friends.
TIP:
Buy your maps here! They were much cheaper than home
Postcards were very well priced - stock up!
Ask lots of questions, get advise and helpful tips BEFORE you go...

I found the tourist information staffs really helpful and knowledgeable. They supported me to organise my journey in Alice Springs.
The Staff are very friendly, the information centre is well stocked with pamphlets and information on local tourism, centre air condtioned for comfort and well located
Friendly, Nice and helpful map of the City and the way to Darwin.

There is many souvenirs and post cards and stamps also.

I visited Alice Springs for quite a few months and was plesantly suprised with the little town. For food I loved the restuarant 'Osars' -great for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Also, Hanumans Indian & Thai Restuarant is delicious.

Called in and asked for attractions we could visit with our dog. I had to reinterate this 6 more times as I was presented with brochures for National Parks and indoor venues. Leave your dog at home if visiting Alice Springs.
