The basic shops you will need are all here in Town Centre. . .an IGA supermarket, bank, post office, sandwich deli, newsagent come camera shop, stationery, art supplies, tour desks, cafe, noodle bar, hair & beauty including your souvenir shops. IGA closes at 9pm, newsagent at 8pm, last orders for restaurants is 9pm. Most other shops have normal trading hours.

The shopping arcade is modern and has a small range of basic cafes and shops from a post office through gift shops and tour centre to a supermarket. You can look round it in less than 30 minutes. You can probably find all that you need for a two or three day stay in the resort.

There a a few shops with nicely made Australian (and some Aboriginal) art that is better than the usual tourist stuff and a few places to buy food that don't cost a fortune. Pleasant place.

The cafes are basic, fairly downmarket and the shops expensive and touristy. If you want to get something to eat in your room your choice is very limited. Its all a bit tatty and disappointing and they could make more of an effort but probably dont feel they have to as, after all, where else can you go??! The tour... More

....yes I know it's a long way from anywhere, but..... a very restricted offering here. 3 gift shops - all selling pretty much the same items, thankfully at the same prices! 1 restaurant as an alternative to eating in expensive hotels. Deli closed prompt at 5pm. Supermarket good for those in the self catering units... Having said all that most... More

considering the Isolation...........wonderful attempt to execute a vision for tourists and community. The centre has everything for all ages. How they make a profit is beyond me.It does look like a real quiet zone with tourists numbers clearly down. With family book first and don't try and ask for a large table at peak times!dinner only.June 2010 visit.
