I took my boyfriend here (he is english, I am aussie) on our second holiday back to australia together. The first trip we went to Australia Zoo which was cool but very touristy, and very large. We both enjoyed the intimate nature of Lone Pine and the wild animals around were fantastic. We had lunch with the lizards roaming around,... more

We went on our first day in Australia and it was such a great experience!! It was wonderful to see so many different indiginous animals!! And I especially liked the kangaroo petting area where you could hang out with friendly (lazy) kangaroos in an open gated pasture. It was unreal!!! Of course, the mandatory koala photo opp was fun and... more

We arrived at Lone Pine at 8:30am when it opened. My top tip is to get there very early. We were the first ones in the park and went straight to the koala cuddling area where we got to spend so much time with the koalas (rather than later on become part of a production line to have photos). We... more

The sanctuary is in the outskirts of Brisbane, it was a tad difficult to find, but it is in a lovely place and well worth a visit. The star attraction is of course the koalas, you must get a picture holding one, it is a memento to treasure. We also saw the birds of prey show, which was very impressive,... more

This is an old-fashioned animal park and sanctuary, and I find it charming and delightful. There's no amusement park, no parking lot full of tourist busses, and no parade of food stands, just a small park, plenty of native animals in close proximity, and a knowledgeable staff. Don't miss the sheepdog demonstration, and be sure to get your photo taken... more

We took the Mirimar Boat up to Lone Pine and spent most of the day there. There were lots of koalas, as you would expect, but also a large open area where you could feed and pet kangaroos. The sanctuary also has several other native animals on display. Worth checking out while there - the birds of prey show and... more

About 11k from Brisbane by boat. Very relaxing and informative journey with great views. The sanctuary was great. Very child friendly. Great birds of prey show, can cuddle a koala and have your photo taken. The kangaroo area was brilliant and you could feed them with food purchased in the gift shop. Had a great variety of birds loved the... more

We really enjoyed our time here. They have a lot of koalas, and it was particularly thrilling to see a few joeys. We weren’t thrilled with the photos taken with the koalas….the person taking the picture barely looked at the camera before snapping a picture. Fortunately, you are also allowed to take some pictures with your own camera and those... more
