We went to the sanctuary planning to spend a half a day. We arrived at 10 (driving from Spring Hill) bought our tickets. (Family plan with 2 adults and 1 child) And just wondered around getting the feel for things. We ended up spending 5 hours and enjoyed them all. There are Koala's everywhere. The boys, the girls, the showoff.... more

The Lone Pine Koala sanctuary seems a little different from most zoo's, it seems to encourage closeness to the animals rather than seperate you from them. We spent a day there stroking kangaroo's, meeting Emu's and of course hugging a Koala, but even the animals you're not allowed to get up close and personal with aren't too far away. For... more

We visited the Koala Sanctuary in mid-August. It took some time to enter the Sanctuary because their credit card system was down and they were doing everything manually. While this was clearly a problem for them, they seemed unconcerned about the wait to enter the reserve. My nine-year old wanted her picture taken with a koala so we got in... more

This is a must see in Brisbane. My family had a wonderful time. I have a 9 and 7 year old and they both had a blast. We started the day visiting the Koala Bears where we were able to take pictures with them. That was really neat. We also took a picture with a snake. Once you purchase pictures... more

Went several years ago. Took a boat up the river to the sanctuary, which allowed us to see trees filled with fruit bats. Enjoyed watching many people having their picture taken with the koalas. Also enjoyed being able to wander amidst the kangeroos, petting them. The rangers at Currumbin would not allow us to get near the joeys, even when... more

The day we visited Lone Pine was the most anticipated day for us during our time in Australia and we were not disappointed. My wife and I each got to hold a Koala and have our photo taken which made the entire trip worthwhile. We also spent over two hours feeding and petting the kangaroos and wallabies. There is hardly... more

It does exactly what it says on the tin! A great display of koalas of all ages and not behind bars either. Plenty of photo opportunities. Only downside is that it is a little way out, and very difficult to get to on a Sunday unless you know the right bus stop to catch the bus from (only 1 runs... more

My husband and I took our two sons to the sanctuary to hold a koala but this place is much more! You learn a lot here about the animals of Australia. It was nice to walk amongst the kangaroo's and feed them. I was like a kid in a candy shop, even more excited than my boys. Holding a koala... more

When my wife asked to go here to hold a koala .. I thought it was ridiculous and too far out of the way .. but once I got there - I think I enjoyed it more than her. The sanctuary was a great time ... we learned a lot about so many native animals ... I was surprised to... more

This is a little haven and an absolute must if you are in Brisbane. We had visited Australia Zoo the previous day and were a little worried it might not live up to much but we were wrong! This is a great sanctuary and the koalas look so happy and are really well cared for. There were plenty of other... more
