My husband and I live in the local area and work at a holiday complex and took some of our friends that had come to visit for a night at Tjapukai. We had a fantastic time! The staff and the food were both great. Our waitress Mary was superb and really friendly and we loved having our drinks all ready... more

I went to the dinner show which was $109 including a transfer from town. It was awful, overpriced and culturally tacky. Though the photos in travel brochures and online are quite appealing, once I was there it felt highly inappropriate for aboriginal culture to be paraded around this way as a tourist attraction over a buffet meal. When I booked... more

Well daughter loved it so for that alone I was happy, but we didn't think it was anything worth visiting ourselves. The performers seemed to be having a laugh among themselves, felt like a private joke up on stage we weren't privy too. Overall I thought it was quite poor. I have been to quite a few other attractions around... more

I wanted to see Aboriginal Culture, instead I got a cheesy version of it. When I went, there was about 6 people working there and about 10 visitors. And it was on a weekend! I thought that the AUD$31 ticket price was very high considering I only spent about 1 hour in the park. It is worth about half of... more

This is one of those experiences that years later, I still laugh about and consider it one of the hokiest and strangest live action shows I have ever seen. It was like one of those really really bad dioramas you saw when you were a kid, touring the really bad museum with your classmates. Now just imagine the dioramas coming... more

I was there yesterday and it was just OK...the history lesson was ok but this has a campy feel. This had the feel of those cheesy shows you see at Carribean resorts. The staff did try and they looked like they are enjoying this but I think you'd be better off donating money to an aboriginee cause and save yourself... more

Perhaps we came on a bad day. All but one of the performers seemed disinterested, in a rush or worse--cynical. My kids enjoyed the spear throwing and boomerang toss but my wife absolutely hated it. She thought it was a total rip-off. As there are limited cultural experiences, this one may be better than nothing at all but was a... more

A good introduction to aboriginal culture. Good interesting demos of things like spear-throwing, boomerangs- audience participation encouraged. Food and medicines, dancing- all informative but with sense of humour. The show on the Tjapukai culture -how they view the world was fascinating. The one on the efects of the white man, sobering. Very good value. The shop was also very good... more

VERY disappointing. Quite simply an expensive buffet with millions of tourists and poor service. The gift shop is good and authentic (I'd rather buy the genuine article than the cheap Chinese rubbish around the esplanade) but the show was parody - not really informative, just an unfunny nonsense display. There were a couple of people who laughed consistently but the... more
